Check Those Tires! Especially Radials...
Here's a snippet for those of us who have been riding years and think we know it all!
I've discovered that the new radial tires increasingly found on even non-sport bikes, lose air pressure much more quickly than traditional crossply tires.
I realized this after the last couple of times I've ridden my bike after a longish break and found the steering heavy and soft. I'd assumed that pressure would be still up as usual.
Instead I found the psi was down under 20 - which is dangerous! And this only happened since I changed tyres.
So the moral is, we all know we should check our tires regularly - but if you have radials, your REALLY need to kneep an eye on them!
Anyway, the suns's out and spring is here in NorCal - I'm off riding!
