Laying your bike up for winter - Battery Care
This is from my pool of motorcycle battery experience - learnt the hard way!
If you're laying your bike up for the winter, or even riding it less than once a week - it's definitely worth hooking it up to a battery optimizer to keep your battery topped up.
This uses a minute amount of electricity. and ensures that the battery on your bike does not lose all it's charge and permanently die. Last season I paid over $100 for a replacement battery for my Kawasaki dual sport bike that was only a little over a year old.
The one I use is a Acumen Platinum Charger from RiderStation.com and it works a charm! It also has a handy 10ft extension ansd a wall bracket. A great deal and it arrived quickly too.
